  Of Wankellectuals and Referendaires

Maybe.

In any case your title might give the (faulty) idea that the two groups "wankellectuals" and "referendaires" are mutually exclusive. Far from it mate, far from it.

Thanks for good wishes. Although I have to wait for official confirmation for my own stay at the Lux court away from the transfers you seem to fear. Are you sure Labour are still in the transfer business' (I am sure mark would disagree)

Do you really think Labour would bother with someone as unimportant as me? After all my job is (and has always been) entirely legal in the service of the European Communities with no national slant whatsoever. kif tghallimna fil-kors tal-ligi eh?

In any case, the reason why I try to stick to this job is because it is the first one that has the combined qualities of (a) being a job I like and academically challenging; (b) not depending on political recommendation of any sort (thankfully since both PN and MLP are not exactly my best mates); (c) staying on depends on how good you are and not who you know. Call me stupid but I feel good that way!

GOOD LUCK for Roma tonight.

They're both in the transfer business...I'm a realist, after all, raised in an apolitical household where we could think for oursleves, and without any hangups or nostalgias for a more Christian Democrat PN or an authentically Socialist MLP.

Thank you, God or however, for my lovely parents...

As an outsider, may I ask if this is some sort of Maltese Brokeback Mountain scenario in the making? Mark as the grizzled rider and Jacques as the seasoned saddle. It would give the Maltese blogosphere the spice it needs, I'm sure.
