Publio: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Malta!

Respect for national anthem

Publio Agius, mayor, Floriana.

The Floriana local council together with the National Festivities Committee organised an activity on Wednesday, October 18, to commemorate Dun Karm Psaila, the National Poet, near his monument in Floriana.

A group of students from Floriana Primary School took part in the event, accompanied by their teachers and heads of the school, and in the presence of the Minister for Tourism and Culture as well as representatives from the council and committee. The students read some poems written by Dun Karm and laid flowers at the foot of the monument as a symbol of respect and gratitude. I was very impressed by the children's behaviour during the commemoration, particularly during the singing of the National Anthem.

This showed the commitment by their teachers in instilling patriotic sentiments in them as well as love for their national identity. These students were worthy of representing the schoolchildren of Malta and Gozo.

At the end of the activity all students participating in the event were offered a Happy Meal sponsored by McDonalds.

I think the title in this case be "Cultural Learnings of Malta for make benefit etc etc."

Jkbuha - I like, you nice comment suggest!

In film Borat, Kazakh journalist go to nice Rodeo show in stars and stripe shirts with cowboying hat. There he sing national anathema of US and A but with new Kazakh lyricals. There much hamburgers is eaten and much commitment shown in instilling patriotic sentiments as well as love for their national identity.

Ah! You must have saint patron to watch big show in nice london city. Me watch in cinema complexity with audience of Belgiums. Impression boys crazy laugh, girls only smile. Curious to investigate reaction of Eden Century Complex audience - what they like, what they not like. I think they like scene with Azamat and Borat wrestle best.

Ah now I see how you got to me via 'malta wedding fair 2006'. I was pretty sure that I hadn't covered that event in this blog.

Yes, fairly good guess viz Xarabank and maltastar. But what about Daphne? I reckon a typically 'hard-hitting' piece called "Why Borat Sagdiyev could be Maltese" might be on the cards. di-ve.com commenting on his malapropisms would be funny too.

Yes, I haven't figured it out (although I have some ideas). Now let's see who'd be making desperate google searches for 'malta wedding fair 2006...'

Viz. Anna Mallia - she's got her weekly rant/column in MaltaToday which gives her a fair amount of coverage. More or less on an equal footing with Lorna Vassallo but not quite as influential in the minds of men as DCG I would imagine.
